Training teaches horses to be our companions. They find purpose in their work, and joy in social contact.
Dressage horses are athletes, skilled in the balance and movement of dance, obedient to the guidance of a rider.
Maryanna's approach uses the pragmatic techniques she has learned through many years and through training many horses. Focusing on achieving both willingness and athleticism in the horse, Maryanna guides the horse through a regimen of physical conditioning and exercise to improve balance and coordination. Starting with the accepted progression of Dressage competition, the training program for each horse is customized to use their natural abilities to overcome their faults. Every horse is different. The work must reflect those differences, but the core goals are the same. The extent to which the goals are achieved will vary as each horse's innate ability differs.
